Artist's Biography with a twist.

Award-winning photographer Steven Paul Hlavac (pronounced la-VACK) grew up on Long Island, New York. He studied photography and graphic arts at the
University of Buffalo and Florida State University. He received a BA degree in Art from FSU.

Steven opened his first photo studio in 1986 at what is now Art Center South Florida in the Lincoln Road Arts District of South Beach (Miami).
ARTIST'S STATEMENT
SELECTED EXHIBITIONS
Within several years, he began exhibiting his artwork on a regular basis, at the same time running a commercial photo studio. He quickly gained a reputation as an emerging artist as well as a creative fashion, portrait, and nightlife photographer.
Steven's first published work was for Miami's alternative weekly newspaper, New Times. He has also shot in South Florida for such magazines as Ocean Drive, Fashion Spectrum, Miami Metro, and Haut Decor.
His work has appeared nationally in Women's Wear Daily, Vogue España, Panache, Metropolis, and International Cosmopolitan magazines.
Among his corporate clients are Dollar Rent-A-Car, Clairol Cosmetics, MCM, The Hard Rock Cafe, and Planet Hollywood.
Steven now lives and works in Central Florida. In addition to his fashion and portrait work, he also devotes time to digital imaging, including web graphics and computer-enhanced photographic art.

He is a regular contributor to Lake & Sumter Style Magazine.
