Ok, I'll admit, life can be a grind sometimes. For me, a 60-70 hour work week is the norm, but before you go sheading any tears, keep in mind I love what I do...
Still, busy as I am, I do get to enjoy a guilty pleasure from time to time, and one such small luxury is sleeping in a bit on some Saturday mornings.
I rise and shine at a relaxed pace, pour myself a hot cuppa joe, toast up a nice bagel or some slices of wheat bread, park myself in front of the tube, and if the timing's right, I sit back and enjoy the latest antics of Tanya Memme and Roger Hazard on A&E's home makeover show, Sell This House.
The formula for Sell is pretty simple. Take an appealing "for sale" home thatnext page
for some reason is lingering on the
market, hold an open house with hidden cameras and listen to the visitors' comments and complaints (which can be surprisingly negative).
Tanya and Roger to the rescue!
They step in, do a two-day low-budget makeover to address the home's biggest problem areas, neutralize and stage the rooms (show terms for removing clutter and shaping a positive perception of the house for as wide a market as possible), hold another hidden camera open house, bask in the sunlight of total opinion reversal from prospective buyers, and (hopefully) receive a great offer to buy the house.
The show ends with high fives all around for a job well done...
During each half-hour episode, Tanya and Roger share screen time with the home's owners, family, and friends. Roger is the design expert: choreograph-ing and coordinating the cleanup, makeover, and staging.next page

Tanya hosts,
shmoozes the guests, helps with all the grunt work, is a foil for Hazard's occasionally harsh (but humorous) comments, and generally keeps the whole affair light-hearted and moving along.
