I'm pleased to announce the first exhibition of my gallery work for 2017.
I will part of a small group photography show with fellow artists Mary Bel and Marc Duke at the Leesburg Center for the Arts in nearby Leesburg, Florida. The show will run August 21st through September 9th, with a reception for the artists on Friday, August 18th, 7-9pm.
I've learned over the years to try to take avantage of every opportunity to show my work that comes along. Or at least consider it - weighing risk/reward - and decide if the benefits will be worth the effort.
And believe me, creating photographic art, making perfect prints, matting and framing them for display, making all of the arrangements to show them, then taking on the responsibilty of promoting the event through traditional and now social media, as well as informing one's various circles of friends and family, can be a lot of work!
In this case it was an easy choice.these three pieces
My submission for The Eye of the Beholder consists of three pieces. And, considering the size and intamacy of the exhibition space, as well as the fact I'll be sharing walls with two other artists, I'm fine with that number.
It is work that I have never shown before, the response from the local community should be very positive, and three pieces is a relatively easy number to work with considering the time, effort, and money that goes into getting everything ready for display.
There will be two images from my 'Florida Seaplane Pop Art' series, and one from my 'Urban Landscapes Pop Art' series. All follow an evolved direction I've chosen for my work - a deconstruction/reconstruction technique that closely follows traditional photo-silkcreen and photo illustration styles.
